Poems by Stacey Todd, aka "Lost Angel"

PERFECT SIGHT

your eyes are dark
as deep as the sea
your heart is so pure
it sets me free
your touch is so gentle
it sends chills to my spine
your hands are so soft
but so warm in mine
you look so tough and strong
but you're so sweet and smooth
your stare is so inviting
you look in every groove
to me you are perfect
every thing so right
you are so breathtaking
you are the perfect sight

LOVE
love is not an object
love is not a toy
love is something special
that you give to a boy
love is not a picture
for everyone to see
love is something special
that lies between you and me
love is not a color
love is not a sign
love is something special
that builds over time
love is an emotion
found in our hearts and mind
love is something special
that i hope we all shall find

FADED FAIRY TALES

fairy tales surrounded me, engulfed me
each question was answered with sugar coated dreams
but now that I’ve seen the hypocrisy, the apathy
my popped bubble spews anger and pain
and drenches my bruised soul

my princes and princesses have been burnt and gobbled up
by a dragon whose blood is the wine of truth
I once feared that green scaled beast
but I now hold his leash

true love, true happiness
have become like pixie dust
and floated away on a purple winged horse

those silly games of a sheltered child
of a stubborn and hopeful girl
I’ve ripped them from inside
fluffed them through the seams of my teddy
and shipped them away to the next vulnerable nymph
I will not allow them to bother me any longer

: Dreaming Soul

Biographical Comments: I'm a teenage girl in Indiana who spends her time reading, writing, and trying desperately to find any other means of losing myself in thought. Writing is a passion of mine that I am told I'm talented at. I'd love to hear your criticism so long as it is honest and constructive.

DREAMING OF YOU

I've often dreamed of finding someone like you
I'd lay and dream of you here with me
Or I there with you
I'd lay in your arms as safe as can be
Us holding one another ever so tightly
Never letting go, never knowing
Knowing how I long for you here next to me
How I long to hear the words "I love you" said to me
But my time has come
I must awaken
Yet I'll dream of someone like you
Another day, I'll find someone like you
Who isn't already taken.

SECRETS

So many secrets hidden inside
So many secrets how do I describe
I don't know where to start
All I know is
I always end up alone, with a broken heart
That's why I hide
All my secrets deep inside
I son't know how to tell you
I don't know how to be true
No matter how hard I try
My feelings grow stroger and stronger
But no longer can I hide
My feelings deep inside
I can't stand it no more
I can't hide how I feel anymore
It's tearing me apart
All my feelings in my heart
Should I trust them
Or should I just try to let them pass
Just like all the rest
I don't know what to do
I'm not sure if any of this is true
Is it all in my head
Or is it all in my heart
That I truly do love you.

Biographical Comments: Hi, my name is Keishia, I am 16, I live in Maplesville, Alabama. I just started writing poetry last year. It has become a hobby, it's like a diary, I can put my thoughts into a poem.

I really want to get other people's opinion on how they sound.

Poetry by Alison Hardy

UNTITLED

A raindrop fell onto a little leaf
The leaf got cold and wanted to die
And when he began to feel better
More raindrops fell from the sky
He wanted to drop and watch them fall
But instead he bore it and stood up tall
And in the end although not fun
He rose to see the shining sun.

Biographical Comments: I am 17 years old. My birthday is February 25th. I like to write poems becuase it is way to let my feelings out without telling anybody straight out. I have about 16 or more poems and they all mean something to me. They tell a different story about death, love, losing a loved one, and even just fighting with my best friend.

As I Watch The Sky

As I watch the sky,
I see your face,
beautiful beyond belief,
I sigh with relief,
the one that captivates my mind,
holds me in a bind,
forever will I desire you,
to burn my fire,
to set me free,
wishing we could be,
much more than one can see,
holding you tight,
oh what a sight,
looking into your eyes,
and to my surprise,
a look of certain content,
now my thoughts are sent,
feeling your body close to mine,
a feeling of warmth comes to mind,
kissing your soft lips,
and in your finger tips,
all I can say,
is don't go, please stay,
for we are one,
by mind and spirit,
I can almost hear it,
the beating of your heart,
so rhythmic,
so innocent,
so soothing,
oh it never ends,
on and on it goes,
when it stops,
no one knows,
for this is love,
unpredictable,
susceptible to change,
this is what I see,
this is what I think,
still watching the sky,
if only I could fly,
oh what a sight that would be,
if we could just flee,
to run, to hide,
never to be found,
not even a sound,
we could be together,
no one would come between us,
no one could fuss,
at the love we have for each other,
to love one another,
this is what I want,
to be your tear,
to have been born in your eyes,
to live on your cheek,
and to die on your lips,
this is what I see,
when I watch the sky.

IN THE CITY

In the city, there is a girl
Her face does not shines like a beautiful pearl
It is covered with dirt, grime, and tears,
as she askes for money, but all she's paid is sneers.
"Get a job!","We have no remorse!", they all yell.
She lowers her eyes, thinking the world is her jail cell.
In the city, there is a girl,
Her face shines like a beautiful pearl,
She walks down the street, in the rush of the crowd,
feeling happy and very proud.
She has earned her money for a special gift,
for her mom's birthday, to give her spirit a lift.
As she walks by 23rd and 19th, she can't help but hear,
a half sobbing voice reaching her ear.
"Spare some money please, a few dimes,
I've seemed to fallen on some hard times."
Stopped dead in her tracks, she reaches in her purse.
She herself has said this same verse.
"All I have is a 10", she says, "Is that enough?"
"Here's an address too, I hear these streets can be quite rough."
"You'll get a hot meal and a place to sleep,
you might want to go and take a peep."
As she began to walk away, all the girl could manage was a feeble, "thank you".
"Don't worry",she said, "I've been there too"

BIO: Hey, first of all, I just want to say Hi to everyone. I'm 15 years old, I live in Ohio, but I really call Texas my home. ( I have moved ALOT) I use poetry as a way of self expresion and to show my peers how I tick and my views on the problems and triumphs of the world. I LOVE music. My favorite bands are NoDoubt and DCTalk. The most important part of me is my relationship with God and Jesus Christ. I am Catholic Christian for those who care to know. I thank God every day for my gift of writing. :) That's about it. I hope you enjoy my poetry.

Sorrow's Reign

wandering from town to sullen plain
in sorrows reign
and strange fleeting glimpses of a new dawn
hang in my peripheral vision, phantasms of hope
against a bleakness, stiffining

I come upon a town
hollowed ground
the essence caught in a grim cathedral
a woman slips by, lost in chaos
and the wind blows cool

a whim leads me into the steeple
filled with people
and a great gilt altar stares back
with pain, agonizing
but with hints of a better time

after seeing the host
a holy ghost
he leads me into his heart
and shows me the weeping midwives carrying bundles to market
for sixpence and a loaf of bread

the wounded vision of the land
a thousand lifetimes spans
and I watch it sink and fall
like aborted nightmares of st. Peter
Pearly sights of darkness and despair

As steadily he weeps
a feeling seeps
from his torso bruised and swollen
hope for the willage a halo of light
a crown of thorns yet also redeeming

As I watch the fountian slow
his teardrops go
he leads me into a corridor lined with mirrors
and woven tapestries pastel and fringed
watch me from the vaulted sky

we reach a pillard tomb
a darkened room
save for a thread of light
upon his forehead
and then he is gone, as miracles often are

Digital Dream

As i talk to you
through the computer screen,
you get to learn more
about the real and true me.

I was not blessed with beauty.
I don't own a fancy car.
Im the kind of person
who finds beauty in the stars.

Your words effect my senses.
I am hooked on your bait.
I somehow know
you are my soulmate.

I do not question our love
for i know its pure and true
for you love me
and I love you.

I'm not rich of famous.
my gifts come from the heart.
I would treat you so good
that you'd hurt when were apart.

Sometimes looks
get in the way
of what your really
trying to say.

I know again
we'll meet someday.
I hope this is true
to God I pray.

For now I must live
in my digital dream.
Dont wake me up!
I beg you please!
I'im talking to an angel
over my computer screen.

Mr. Right

Black hair brown eyes
sweet kisses tells lies
nice car big house
devilish smile sneaky as a mouse
bug player little mind
good guys are hard to find
is he Mr. right or mr right now?

Ending Song

One dark and cold and lonesome night
I cried my tears in vain,
Just watched you simply walk out of my life
And open my heart to pain

And there I stood, all by myself
With no love to call my own,
I learned the second part to love
That before, I hadn't known

The part that's never talked about
But is hidden between the lines,
When some can just start over,
And then others are left behind

The time when laughter ceases
And all the music dies,
When you find yourself dancing all alone
Underneath the darkened sky

When happiness is only fiction
And the tears just seem to start,
And there is no one left to soothe
Your torn and empty heart

But then comes the realization
When you've accepted what is through,
And what you have to offer
And what you know is true

That sometimes things will find
The beginning of their end,
And though your life seems over
You will love again.
