Message: My G3grandfather was one of the pioneer settlers in Chambers County, Tx. Actually, Cedar Bayou, Chambers County, Texas, then. HANCE BAKER, JR. and wife, ANNA BROWN BAKER; all of their children were born there.

My G2grandfather, FRANCIS (FRANK) ANTONE BUSCH and his wife, MARIA were also among the pioneer families of Cedar Bayou, Chambers County. TX. All but one of their children were born there.

CELESTIN BUSCH was a brother to FA BUSCH and he was one of the pioneers of that area also.

I am beginning to research these lines of my family and would appreciate any help I could get.
Sincerely,
DE CHAMBERS --(No connection to the county, as far as my surname goes.)

I have John BAKER B 26 Dec. 1778 in TN and d 17 June 1853 Henderson Co TX, buried in Baker Cemetery. Did he donate land for cemetery? His wife was Eliza (?), don't have her maiden name, nor marriage date. She was born 11 Jan. 1809 TN, died 22 Nov. 1852 Henderson Co and buried in Baker Cemetery. Children: Emeline Baker ca 1833 IL; Joseph Baker b ca 1835 TX, James Baker b 3 Nov. 1837 died 20 July 1853; Elizia Jane Baker b 30 Dec. 1841 TX married to M.M. HALL, died 10 Feb. 1917; John A. BAKER b ca 1844 TX married to Margaret Joanna PRATT 14 Feb. 1866 Henderson Co TX, no death date. William BAKER, b 11 Jan. 1848, died 20 Jan. 1848. So your Mary could easily fit into this family.
Is this the same John BAKER who received bounty warrant # 468 for 320 acres from Sec. of War on 22 Nov. 1837 for service from June 4 to Sep. 1836. 320 acres was patened to him in Kaufman Co. on 20 May 1846.
I have more info on his son John A. BAKER who married PRATT.

Sure no problem. I have all the information, plus a few people you can talk to to get the rest of the Baker tree.
Send me what you have, then I will go thru my database and extract pertain information relating to the Bakers.
Sophia Woodruff & Elizabeth Woodruff were sisters. Their father was Joseph Woodruff.
Now, Sophia married John Harvey and Elizabeth married Seth Baker. I have Seth Baker's story wrote by him. He wrote it and someone typed it exactly as he wrote and spoke it. It's the history of the Bakers & Woodruff's coming and starting the Town Of Andover.
Thadeus Baker came first; from Granville, Washington County, New York
Alpheus Baker & his son Seth Baker came in the summer of 1807.
Joseph Woodruff 1809.
But, they all new each other and travel together back & forth, back Granville, Washington County, New York and too Andover, Allegany County, New York.
