Julia Combs letter of Jan 1994: "I have in my files a York Co.,VA deed abstract
for the sale of land in Poquosin [VA] from Thomas Heynes to George Moseley on
31 Dec 1655. This of course is not Arthur's son but simply shows another George
Moseley line". RIN#4228 George may be more likely from the York Co. VA line.
  ***
This George Moseley was at least the occupier if not the actual patentee of
patent book 33 page 793-- 29 May 1760 Lunenburg Co 400 ac on the head branches
of Buffalo Creek adjoining Perry's lines--clearly that is the land he sold to
Edward Moseley of Charlotte Co VA about 1782; Probably, he was from Henrico
County area and not Princess Anne-- otherwise how would he end up having
Edward Moseley of Chesterfield County move in adjacent to him in 1761 in
Charlotte County (now) one year after the above Patent.
     ***
Franklin Mousley in his 1950 book, without presenting evidence, says that he
figured that #4228 George Moseley descended from Appendix file #332 George
Moseley, i.e. the one in Lancaster Co VA record 6 aug 1652. LDS film #0001042
        ***
andrea files in lds microfilm 0954556 and 0965557: citing va wills and admin
book: says 1787 brunswick co va has an entry for will of a george moseley
if it's this one, then that's evidence of connection of this line to
the complex of mid 1700's moseleys in brunswick co records.
           ***
COULD GEORGE MOSELEY B.CA.1710 OF NORFOLK VA AREA BE AN ANCESTOR OF THIS LINE??:
(notes for norfolk va moseley line #4217 wm1 arthur2 george3 george4  )
Was not named in his stepmother's father, Tully Emperour's 1722 will in
Princess Anne Co VA.
Walter cites Princess Anne Deed VA Bk 07:235 in 1752 shows that George
still appeared in Princess Anne records at that late date, 20 years after that
name had begun appearing in Brunswick Co, VA records or adjacent Northampton
Co., NC. Therefore there is no evidence that the George Moseley who disappears
from Princess Anne Co. Va. records in 1750's could be the same George Moseley
whose probate was recorded 7 July 1758 in Brunswick Co. Va.  The strongest
reason to contrary: Brunswick Co. records list a different wife's name and many
children of age up to twenty years or so: children who sound like Brunswick Co.
people and show no evidence of a connection back to Princess Anne Co. Va.
OR ELSE George of Princess Anne might have ended up in Charlotte Co VA?:
the George who was living in (today's) Charlotte Co. Va by 1750's
---remembering that before 1744 brunswick co included today's Charlotte Co.
But PrAnneCo VA D.B.6: 66 (below) sounds like he didnt have a wife in 1741.
  ****
Mrs. Walter's chart #3 could be interpretted as listing a daughter Elizabeth
Moseley (who married Whitehurst) for this George Moseley, but she seems
clearly a confusion for George's sister Elizabeth who definitely was the widow
of Henry Whitehurst before a 1737 minute book record in Princess Anne Co. Va;
in 1741 George Moseley was inexplicably selling off land in princess anne
deed bk 6: 22 and 66. p.22 was to Capt Thomas Quay, being the land that
George's stepmom's father Tully Emperor bought in 1697 from John Edmunds.
Page
66 is "the land where George now liveth together w one negro man named Robin."

SEE appendix BOOK 2 OF 2 FOR THIS GEORGE MOSELEY'S POSSIBLE
DESCENDANTS--EITHER THE GEORGE PROBATED 1758 BRUNSWICK

---remembering that before 1744 brunswick co included today's Charlotte Co.
A charles city va  grant to a Geo.in surrey co is cited in LDS 0001030-0001045
& says it pertains to present day brunswick co. va.
(1) HE MAY BE RELATED TO GEO MOSELEY B. BEF 1677 PR ANN CO VA
(2) He may be related to an unknown George Moseley who on 31 Dec 1655
bought land in Poquosin, York Co., VA from Thomas Heynes. York Co George
is not Arthur's son but simply shows another George Moseley line.

2 of her sons apparently died in Northampton Co NC, so they probably lived
there, as well as certainly her husband dying with land owned there;

There is no direct evidence that the Anthony Walke Jr who married 1778 in

An Anthony Walke, undoubtedly father of this one (but maybe not the same

Princess Anne DB 1: 127 of 5 Nov 1696 to ___ and My Son In Law, almost

Adventurers of Purse and Person 1607-1625, 3rd ed. 1987 revised and edited by
Virginia M. Meyer and John Frederick Dorman, p. 318-319.
Mary married (2) by 15 Aug 1672, [here they cite p.124 of the same Wills and
Deeds Bk] as his (2) wife, [#6452] Lt. Col. Anthony Lawson, Justice of Lower
Norfolk County, 1672/3-1682, 1687-1691, Burgess from that county, 1680-82,
1688, 1691-92, Justice of Norfolk County, 1693, and Justice of Princess Anne
County, 1696-1701. Administration on his estate was granted 1 Oct 1701. [they
cited Princess Anne Order Bk 1, p. 289] The quit rent roll of Princess Anne Co.
, 1704, carried 3100 acres in the name of Anthony Lawson.
Princess Anne Deed Bk 01:043 1693 from Anthony Lawson #6452 to son-in-law
(surely step-son in modern lingo) Edward Moseley #705 and wife Frances,
earliest documentry citation of when Edward married her. Deed discusses from
1680 on Lower Norfolk Deeds how Lawson got the 350 acres from Thomas Henwick
and 1684 patent.
