William Franklin SNAVELY

1. William Franklin Snavely disappeared in 1884 while on a trip to the fairat Marion, Smyth C ounty, Virginia.  He was presumed dead, however hewrote a letter dated 12/17/1910 from Brisba ne, Australia, to his halfbrother Joseph Divina Snavely, in Altoona, Kansas.  The letter sai d hewas sailing back to the USA on 12/21/1910.

1. From his marriage to Ada Mae Taylor there were 8 more ranging from 1900 to 1910.  There we re 3 more born after the 1910 census.  There were three more born after that which I have n o dates for.  (Alvin, Kenneth, and Carolyn) Source Ellen Hopkins

2. Obituary:
Elhannan Helton, a resident of this community for 55 years, died last Saturday morning at 2:1 0 o'clock on the 65th anniversary of his brith at his home, three miles east of Neodesha, aft er being very ill for siz weeks and5 days with tuberculosis.

The funeral service were last Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from Grandview Church. The Rev . A. J. Baird, who conducted the funeral of his two brothers, Robert and A. T. Helton (Bud) , was in charge. The music was furnished by the Grandview Sunday school choir.

Burial was in Grandview cemetery. Three sons and three daughters of the deceased acted as pal l bearers.

Elhannan Murphy Helton was borrn in Kentucky, March 27, 1861, the son of Mr. & Mrs. A. H. Hel ton and departed this life, 27 March 1926. He came to Wilson County, Kansas with his poarent s when a young boy and lived in this vicinity for 55 years.

He was married to Miss Ada Taylor at Brooks, on November 26, 1896 and to this union were bor n nine children, eight of whom survive, five sons, Otha, of Olmstead, Fla, the only child wh o was not with his father at the timne of his deathm Ora, Nonnie, Alva and Kennth of the hom e address, and three daughters, Mrs. William Hafel, Wichita, Mrs. Geo. Hickson, Neodesha; an d Mrs. C. L. McClure, Pone City.

Besides his widow and children, he leaves two brothers, Elihu Helton of Oswego and William He lton of Pawhuska, Okla., who mourn his loss; also three half sisters and two half brothers o f Pawhuska.

Mr. Helton was third of his family to die within a year and a half. The first to go was Bob H elton who died January 16, 1925. He was followed by Bud, December 10, 1925 and now Elhannan . All of themn lived on farms near Neodesha.

the deceased was a kind and loving father and husband and as such the memory of him will live .
